Rethinking the BA Team

Tuesday, August 9, 2016 -
6:00pm to 8:30pm

Business analyst teams can take on many forms, from a collection of people with the same title, to a cohesive group of skilled practitioners whose work flows like art. No matter they look like, a good BA practice can happen by chance, but a great one takes work. This session will cover some of the characteristics found in a great BA team, and some of the factors that might stand in the way. One contributing factor to success is the concept of the ego-less BA, which without, will doom the team’s greatness. Paired BAs, while far from mainstream, is another tool that can be leveraged on the path to an above average practice. This presentation explores these two powerful ideas, and their supporting cases.

Learning Objectives

  • You will learn what a high-performing BA team looks like
  • You will learn about the ego-less BA, and why it matters
  • You will understand the benefits of implementing the paired-BA approach
